This year I am in grade 5 , my favourite things at school are Reading , Art and Crafts, Choir, and I love technology challenges . Do you do these at your school ? Technology challenges are where your teacher gives you some ideas and information and you have to change these into a 3D or moveable object , some of the things we made last year are a pair of sunglasses , we had to design a toothbrush , and we made a model of the tyre and rope bridge from 'Molesworth' where we went on a school excursion , this is a picture of the model I made of Molesworth .

This year we were studying life in Medieval times , it was really cool , but I don't think I would have liked to be a girl back in those days . The people did not believe it was important to wash themselves very often .

In a large household of a noble person , the Lord would take the first bath and , without changing the water, all the other people in the house would bath in order of importance , the last to use the slimy bathwater were the girl children of the servants,
I reckon that is GROSS !!!

I was really interested in the way people lived in those medieval times , we even had a visit from some people who dressed in medieval costume , they were pretty cool .

One of the things that I loved most about this was a project we had to do , it was to design and make a medieval home . I put a lot of work into my project and it was chosen to be put on display at the front office . Mum said she would take a picture of it to put up on my website , but when I brought it home from school , my goat Maggie thought it looked good enough to eat and now I have to try to put it back together .
If I can fix it , I hope to be able to show you what my medieval property looks like .

I love reading , some of my favourite authors are J.K. ROWLING !! Roald Dahl,
Paul Jennings , Shirley Barber , Morris Gleitzman and Tony Ross.

My favourite books are HARRY POTTER ...... The Harry Potter books are wicked , and I can't wait for the next one in the series , and for the movie when it comes out !!!

Other favourite books are , The Jewelled Kingdom series , The Unicorns of Ballinor, The stories about Narnia by C.S.Lewis , The Magic School Bus , Round the Twist by Paul Jennings ... Round the Twist is also a TV series it is about 3 kids and their Dad who live in a light house , weird things happen , like Bronson , one of the kids , finding a green baby in the cabbage patch .

I have just read a book called Gobbolino the witch's cat , it is a really good book but I feel sad for Gobbolino , he has to go from place to place searching for somewhere he can call home , only at the very end of the book does he find his place , and is no longer a witch's cat , I am reading this book for the second time now , it is written by Ursula Moray Williams.

READING !! Camping , fishing with my Dad, watching videos , doing crafty things , going to Scouts , I love to go to "Antarctic Adventure", this is a place in Tasmania which has all sorts of things about Antarctica , they also have a 'wicked' ride called 'the Blizzard' . I have been on the Blizzard so many times it is a wonder it is not worn out !
I really like going to the markets , having friends come around or going to their house . I like Pokemon cards , and all my animals .

At home we have lots of animals , sometimes it is a pain to have to go down to feed the chooks especially if it is cold and raining , but whenever I go down there my pet Rooster , Lucky, is always very happy to see me . He might really be happy to see the food that I have but it feels like he is happy to see me .

I have 2 cats called Maddy and Billy , a dog called Joffa , 2 cockateils called Lenny and Jack , a goat called Maggie , lots of fish and 7 chooks ( chickens) the oldest chook is Holly she is 15 years old now .

I called my pet rooster "LUCKY" because , Mum said if he doesnt have a name he will end up being called ROAST CHICKEN ! So I quickly called him LUCKY. All of the chooks have names , one I call Snowy but my Mum and my brother , Alex, call her "the bloomin' white one" and I won't let Mum tell you why !

I used to be a Joey Scout and it was good fun ,then I became a Cub Scout and this was even more fun !! When I was a Cub Scout one of my favourite things was a camping trip we wnt on to a place called Queenstown .

We went up on a bus and it took us about 6 hours to get there . It was after midnight when we finally arrived . The weekend was fantastic !!! We left on Friday and came home on Sunday at about 9 o'clock at night .

This camp was great and the next year when I went again it was just as much fun , there were so many things to do , we were busy from the time we woke up until the time we climbed into our sleeping bags at night.

Last year I was lucky enough to go to the Tasmanian Cuborree , it started on Friday night and went through to Sunday afternoon , it rained but we didnt care .

We made some great things in craft and had fun on the ferris wheel and other rides , I fell off the flying fox !!

The ferris wheel , flying fox and other rides were not like the ones you see at a show , ours were made by Venturer Scouts and leaders out of rope and spas (sticks).

Now I am a Scout in the 1st Lindisfarne Scout group . Being a Scout is a bit harder than being a Cub Scout but still FUN FUN FUN , I can't wait to go on another camp!

Another thing I can do , now I am a Scout , is be a Joey Scout helper , this is great ... well it is great when the Joey Scouts listen !

We had our District show last Saturday night , this is where Scouts from all sections in all of the Groups from the District get together and put on skits , sing songs and things like that, for their parents and friends.

We had a good time , I was a Joey Scout helper and sang songs with the Joey's on stage , and was the commentator for the Cub Scout skit .

The cubs put on a skit called "the Olympic Blanket Tossing Team" , they had an invisible team member who they threw up on an invisible blanket , after a few practise throws , they put on the real demonstration and then decided to attempt a Blanket Tossing World Record !
The audience had to give a huge round of applause to raise the roof so that "Bruce" the invisible team member did not get thrown against the ceiling , but the team put so much effort into their world record breaking toss that Bruce sailed off into space !!
It was a fun skit and everyone seemed to enjoy it .
